CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project.

 

CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction.

 

The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden, Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.

 

We’re currently recruiting for a Contract Administrator here to join the Commercial team here on this iconic Melbourne project. 

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Process and manage all dockets for the self perform scope of works 
  • Top down construction (different to other building construction)
  • Most of the procurement will be almost done, rest will be based on purchase order.
  • Information into spreadsheet tracker – high level of accuracy, entered daily, process invoices monthly, monthly claim.
  • Interfacing daily with the engineering team
  • Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial Pack database and Contract Sum.
  • Provide assistance and support as required to Commercial Manager.
  • Support the maintenance Procurement Schedule
  • Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations issued to subcontractors for projects.
  • Conduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisation’s conditions relating to contracts for prospective projects.
  • Manage and drive the review process to ensure the award of all subcontractors within the required time frame and budget.
  • Maintain a register of subcontractors.
  • Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial Pack database and Contract Sum.
  • Minimise all subcontractor variation claims and elimination of claims where possible.

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

 

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce
  • 5 years’ relevant experience working as a Contract Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the building, construction and engineering industry.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and exposure to a contract management system (CRM).
