CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project.


CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction.


The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden (to be renamed North Melbourne), Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.


We are looking for a HR Coordinator to assist and support the Human Resource team with the operational HR service delivery, ensuring that HR policies, practices, programs and initiatives are delivered consistently across the business.


Responsibilities of the role include:


  • Contribute to and support the review, development and implementation of any relevant HR policies, procedures or initiatives
  • Enable and support managers to orientate new team members to deliver a smooth and positive experience
  • Act as 1st line point of contact on employment related matters including leave management and interpretation of policies, processes or terms and conditions of employment.
  • Support Senior HR Advisors and managers on employment related matters
  • Liaise with peers and/or parent company HR as necessary, to resolve any queries or escalate if required
  • Use information management systems to maintain workplace information and prepare reports on HR matters.
  • Prepare and maintain HR records
  • Coordinate HR led workshops or training sessions
  • Coordinate the on-project management of the parent company Graduate programs
  • Support the broader HR team as required, including coverage for leave, workload support, and other HR and project-wide initiatives to achieve the HR strategy.


To be successful in this key role, you must have:


  • 2+ years’ previous experience in a HR Coordinator role.
  • Exposure to and engineering, construction, manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Proven HR administration and people management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to interpret HR policies, procedures and industrial agreements to provide advice to management and employees.
  • Verified proactive, can-do approach with the ability to show initiative within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, working with a broad range of people from varying backgrounds.
  • Highly computer literate with competence in Microsoft Office and related business and communication tools.
  • Recognised ability to organise, prioritise and work well under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An understanding of, and complete commitment to, employee confidentiality.
  • Experience working on a large scale and complex civil infrastructure construction project is desirable but not essential
