CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project.


CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction.


The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden (to be renamed North Melbourne), Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.


We’re recruiting for an experienced Project Logistics Manager to oversee the co – ordination of the project’s logistical requirements on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. This is key project wide role critical to the successful delivery of this iconic Melbourne project.


Responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to;


  • Co-ordination of meetings with each precinct across the project regarding upcoming fortnightly works
  • Co-ordination meetings with spoil contractors and the relevant operations team to minimise cost to project overall, including finding cost effective alternate dumps, and selling spoil to other projects
  • Review monthly spoil costings for each precinct as well as assist the engineers to understand their costs and quantities to complete including plans to mitigate waiting time  
  • Co-ordination meetings with concrete supplier on project wide basis including construction issues as well as quarterly concrete forecast on volumes from each precinct 
  • Accountable for operation of the project’s logistics yard including management of costs and forecasts monthly. The yard currently has over one hundred truck movements in and out a day, and the yard prefabricates the strutting system for some sites
  • Chase programs from precincts of delivery schedules from logistics yard to sites of steel strutting including assembly and disassembly struts.


To be successful in this key role, you must have:


  • Engineer or supervisor with 5 years’ experience in a logistics / asset / supply chain management or in a similar large-scale project environment
  • Experience with Financial budgets, Asset Management systems and Plant & Equipment Fleet maintenance
  • Experience supervising and managing a team
  • Knowledge of accounting, data and administrative management practices, with understanding of accruals and cost to complete at month end.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ideally you will have Civil Engineering qualification with experience in Spoil, Concrete and Steel movements across large complex project sites.
