CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project.

 

CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction.

 

The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden, Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.

 

We are recruiting for a Superintendent – Signalling to plan and deliver all relevant scopes of rail construction work across a specific geographical area or functional discipline to ensure effective delivery of planned schedules within the planned time and budget, on this iconic Melbourne project.


Responsibilities of the role include;

 

  • Manage direct labour and subcontractors
  • Manage Safety and Quality compliance on site
  • Manage access and logistics to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Strict adherence to cost and time
  • Review and coordinate all temporary works associated with the delivery
  • Facilitate handover process between variable shifts
  • Continuously challenge compliance to staff/subcontractors with GMR’s
  • Ensure all community relations and compliances are upheld
  • Liaise with engineers are principals of success are aligned
  • Oversee the on-site delivery of defined scopes of work on schedule with all stakeholder expectations met.
  • Maintain attitude and behaviours of all staff and workforce pertaining to OHS are aligned with successful outcomes
  • Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety and environment management.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.
  • Manage industrial relations issues and implications and develop appropriate resolution.
  • Conduct thorough performance management evaluation for direct and indirect reports as defined by the JH Performance Management Development System.

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

 

  • Trade qualifications or similar
  • Minimum 10 years previous rail construction experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in industry relevant trade and construction operations of similar scale.
  • Previous CBTC experience desirable
  • Experience working on Metro Trains Melbourne Infrastructure desirable
  • People and performance management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
  • Skill in review of design documentation, ability to understand drawings, provide constructability review and implement final design plans.
  • Safety and environment management, resource management and construction program and methodology.
