Job Description

CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project. 


CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction. 


The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden, Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop. 


We are looking for a Sustainability Advisor to join CYP for a 12-month paternity leave contract. Under the direction of the Sustainability Lead, this individual will support project teams to achieve project sustainability targets.


Responsibilities of the role include; 

 

  • Implement actions, procedures and tools that provide confidence of successful project delivery, in accordance with the CYP D&C Sustainability Management . 
  • Provide advice and guidance to design, construction and other project teams in relation to sustainability outcomes  
  • Effectively communicate key sustainability information to internal and, as required, external stakeholders 
  • Attend design, construction, procurement and other functional led meetings, and derive sustainable outcomes as required
  • Manage and monitor pathways to achieve the nominated sustainability requirements and rating tool credits 
  • Monitor, measure and evaluate the project’s sustainability performance in order to improve project practices, policies and processes and procedures, to gain optimal outcomes on the project 
  • Keep up to date with ISCA, GBCA and new legislation in relation to sustainability


To be successful in this key role, you must have: 

 

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
  • Construction sustainability / environmental management experience (3+ years)
  • Understanding of sustainability principles, rating schemes and standards 
  • Able to successfully coordinate the development and delivery of programs of work (incl. demonstrated project and change management skills)
  • Proficient at measuring, analysing and communicating sustainability performance
