CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project.
 

 CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction.
 

 The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden (to be renamed North Melbourne), Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.
 

 We are looking for a Senior Sustainability Advisor or Sustainability Lead to join CYP D&C Sustainability Team in a sustainability completions role. Under the direction of the Sustainability Manager, this individual will support project teams to achieve project sustainability deliverables and targets including a minimum 5-star Green Star As Built Rating for each of the five stations, and ‘Leading’ ISC IS Rating.
 

 

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Manage the delivery of ‘As Built’ sustainability rating aspects, including the collection of compliant documentation for submission to external rating bodies.
  • Monitor pathways to achieve the nominated sustainability requirements, including ISC and Green Star rating tool credits.
  • Implement actions, procedures and tools that provide confidence of successful project delivery, in accordance with the CYP D&C Sustainability Management Plan.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the construction and other project teams in relation to sustainability requirements and outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate key sustainability information to internal and, as required, external stakeholders.
  • Attend sustainability site inspections and involve construction teams in relation to sustainability site requirements and objectives.
  • Monitor, measure and evaluate the project’s sustainability performance in order to improve project practices, policies and processes and procedures, to gain optimal outcomes on the project.
  • Support the professional development of sustainability team members.
  • Manage one or more direct reports.

 

 

To be successful in this key role, you should have:

  • Experience in successfully delivering Green Star and/or ISC As Built ratings or rating elements.
  • Bachelor of Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
  • Construction sustainability / environmental management experience, ideally with delivering buildings and/or infrastructure projects (5+ years)
  • Professional work experience with either a contractor or consultant in the field of sustainability.
  • Proficient at measuring, analysing and communicating sustainability performance.

 


To be considered for this role, it is essential that you demonstrate the following;

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
  • Trade qualified- carpenter Wide level of planning, development and review of complex projects
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ engineering experience
  • Construction management and specific technical skills base relevant to program of work and discipline area
  • Wide level of planning, development and review of complex projects
  • Implementation of a process and/or product system of audits and schedules
  • Skill in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures
