CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project.


CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction.


The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden (to be renamed North Melbourne), Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.


We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Logistics Superintendent who will be responsible for managing and leading the day to day operations of Project Logistics yard located at the Footscray Flower Market site.


You will primarily be responsible for the ongoing coordination of;

  • On-site truck, machinery and delivery vehicles.
  • Work with site-based logistics and construction crews to ensure the safe loading and unloading of Heavy Vehicles.
  • Receive and distribute freight to relevant areas inside logistics yard.
  • Conduct Safety Audits and inspections of contractor’s vehicles, plant and drivers.


Consideration will be given to applicants who are able to clearly demonstrate the following;


  • Been involved in fleet movement, lay down yard or truck co-ordination.
  • 2-5 years previous construction experience in a similar role.
  • Substantial Industry experience in Transport, Logistics or Construction.
  • Technical competency and understanding in the area that is supervising.
  • Leading Hand or Foreman experience.
  • People and Performance Management of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour.
  • Fleet, Logistics or Construction Lay Down Yard experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.


In addition to the above it is essential that you’re able to maintain effective consultation with various workers’ representatives and committees on both industrial and safety subjects handling issues as they arise.
