ETP - The Project
John Holland, CPB Contractors and Ghella has commenced design and construction work for the Sydney Metro West – Eastern Tunnelling Package.
With a contract worth $1.63 billion, the Eastern Tunnelling Package includes construction of 3.5-kilometre tunnels under Sydney Harbour between The Bays and the Sydney CBD, and the excavation of Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations. Starting at The Bays, tunnel boring machines will cross the harbour near the Anzac Bridge, before heading to the new Pyrmont station and then under Darling Harbour before reaching Hunter Street in the heart of the CBD.
This is the final piece in the puzzle to deliver the city-shaping Sydney Metro West project. Once completed, Sydney Metro West will double rail capacity between greater Paramatta and the Sydney CBD, with travel times of around 20 minutes between the two centres.
About the Role - Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement temporary electrical designs tailored to construction needs, including load assessment, cable sizing and protection coordination, and equipment selection.

Liaise with engineers, supervisors, and superintendents to plan installation sequences and develop safe systems of work. This includes, lift plans, temporary work design briefs and safe work instructions.

Assist electrical supervisors and foreman to ensure compliance with the Electrical Safety Management Plan and Australian wiring standards.

Generate as-built electrical schematic’s using CAD software.

Managing contractors onsite and assisting commercial team to ensure payment.

Procure and coordinate delivery of electrical equipment and consumables for the delivery of electrical activities onsite.

Communicating, assisting, and developing handover works with the completions team to ensure client specifications are met while minimising cost the project.
To be successful in this key role, you must have

Bachelor Degree in Engineering - Electrical, Electronics, Power

Minimum 3-5 years' engineering experience.

Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilities.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of AS-3000, QLD Electrical Safety Act, QLD Electrical Safety Regulation.

Skills in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures.

Experience of working on large infrastructure projects minimum of $500m +

Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance and reporting procedures
