About Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3

Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.

John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.

As construction of GCLR3 gets under way, John Holland is actively recruiting for a talented and driven Casual Cost Planners join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.

About the role

This is a casual role where you will assist the construction team with daily cost control, weekly cost and productivity reporting, end of month cost accruals and monthly forecasting compilation and analysis. 

Responsibilities of the role include

• Assist the team with daily cost control
• Management of forecast sheets in accordance with project requirements
• Assist the delivery team with end of month cost forecasting
• Prepare Bill of Quantities and specifications
• Undertake cost planning, cost analysis, site measurements for progress payments and variations which occur on site
• Report on job progress and cost control to the Project Managers
• Contribute towards any progress claims
• Liaise with and provide input to purchasing and site procurement requirements
• Liaise with the wider team for cost benefit analysis

To be successful in this key role, you should have

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent
• Previous experience working as a Cost Planner, Quantity Surveying or Contracts Administrator in a project delivery space
• Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
