About the project:

Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.


John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.


Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.


As construction of GCLR3 gets under way we have a position available for a Nightshift Materials Coordinator. Join us here at John Holland and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Actively participate in development of a construction HSSE culture that makes safety and environmental awareness a natural part of the job.
  • Liaise with the logistics team to coordinate incoming material deliveries.
  • Receipt materials in Maximo against dummy PO’s.
  • Maintain up-to-date material receipts, transfers & issues.
  • Ensure materials are identified, marked-up and stored appropriately to allow for safe and timely retrieval and issue/distribution.
  • Ensure materials registers and reporting is maintained, updated, and made available to the project team.
  • Perform physical inventories, update materials management system (Maximo) and report any discrepancies to the Plant and Logistics Manager, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Track and coordinate action and close-out of OS&D’s raised by site personnel.
  • Store all electronic copies of delivery documentation, receiving photos and associated materials documentation in the SharePoint.

Skills & experience required:

  • Ability to work on Nightshift from 18:00 – 06:00 Sunday-Thursday
  • Materials management systems, e.g. Maximo, SAP, JD Edwards.
  • 5 years previous operational experience in materials coordination.
  • Materials coordination experience in construction projects.
