About The Project:

John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Your Role:

As a Safety Advisor you will monitor and support the safety function under general supervision to provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems and procedures on the Gold Coast Light Rail project.

 

  • Monitor compliance with the safety systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the project management team.
  • Implement safety programs for project employees.
  • Assist with workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes.
  • Assist with conducting incident and accident investigations.
  • Conduct safety inspections and monitoring work areas.
  • Establish positive working relationships with project personnel and raise awareness of safety risks.
  • Assist in the development of communications tools and records for all project safety meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of project safety programs.
  • Establish and maintain personal competence in relation to the O&M and GoldlinQ’s SMS.
  • Work on rotational day / night shift roster

About You:

  • Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Safety Lead Auditor qualification
  • Construction safety management (1+ years)
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing and performing compliance inspections.
  • Skills in safety management techniques and tools
