About Gold Coast Light Rail

 

Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities. 

 

John Holland is GoldlinkQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment. 

 

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education, and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.

 

John Holland and the GCLR Stage 3 team are now seeking expressions of interest (EOI) for experienced & ticketed plant operators to deliver the Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 Project.

Mobile Plant

 

Expressions of interest are open for operators of the following plant types:

  • Roller
  • Grader
  • Excavator (5-30t)
  • Rubber Tyred Excavator (12t-25t)
  • Articulated Moxy
  • Loader
  • Skid Steer Loaders
  • Hiab
  • Telehandler
  • Backhoe

Requirements for success

 

Mandatory:

  • Experience operating around live services
  • Proficient in the use of GPS (Trimble and Topcon)
  • Next Gen experience
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • White Card
  • Operating Tickets/Licences 
  • No FIFO or DIDO is available so all applicants must reside locally and be open to work night shifts

 

Ancillary:

  • First Aid
  • Dogging/Rigging Licence
  • Truck Licence
  • Concreting experience
  • Road and/or Light rail project experience, but any occupational experience in construction projects generally is equally beneficial.

 

Consideration for this role will be given to applicants that are able to demonstrate the relevant background and experience outlined.
