We are currently looking to discuss positions with experienced Tunnel/Project Managers to join our Tunnelling team in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane with opportunities focussed on roles in both tender and delivery phase.

 

Responsibilities of the role include;

 

  • Development of strategies for successful conversion of opportunities into funded projects, managing tenders and relationships to ensure successful delivery of projects, ensuring that the tender (and/or relevant Tunnelling works) is financially viable, margin expectations achievable and risk complies with corporate guidelines.
  • Upon award, manage resources to deliver the projects within budget, time and HSQE standards, reviewing progress against delivery milestones and take effective remedial action as required.  This may be either as a stand-alone project, JV or package of works on major project.
  • Strong commercial acumen must be demonstrated, ensuring contract, commercial and financial risk management is understood and controlled, providing accurate forecasting of both costs.  You will typically manage a project/package of work in excess of $100m.
  • Ensure that stakeholders (both internal and external) are actively engaged, ensuring John Hollands interest are best represented in all dealings with. You must lead the team and play a key role in developing an engaged, committed culture utilising internal subject matter experts and external designers, vendors and sub-contractors delivering financially viable projects.
  • Where appropriate, develop and modify work processes, technology, or products Identify commercial innovations to positively differentiate JH from competitors

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of construction project management (ideally including tendering exposure) in the Tunnelling sector with experience in TBM, Road Header and/or Drill & Blast operations.
  • Proven experience in positive client/stakeholder relationship management skills, profitable delivery of programs of work, management and leadership of teams and P&L and an absolute appreciate for ‘Safety First’.
  • Familiarity with contractual, legal, commercial and legislative compliance and regulatory frameworks, specifically related to D&C projects.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively to drive positive outcomes with key stakeholders.
