About the role

We currently have vacancies within our WA Rail construction team for highly experienced and dedicated Flashbutt Welder Operators & Offsiders. These newly created roles will be primarily based in a rail flashbutt welding facility on the outskirts of Port Hedland will support a number of rail construction projects in the Pilbara.


These are available to Porth Hedland local residents or FIFO from Perth Airport on a 2 weeks on 1 week off roster.

  • Safe and effective Operation of Flashbutt Welder
  • Prepping rail for welding
  • Hot Grinding Rail
  • Final Grinding of Rail
  • Operation of gantry crane
  • Load and unload rail trains
  • Working to required Project and company safety standards and procedures.
The key requirements of the role are:
  • Current Blue/White card.
  • Experience operating and working in a Rail Flashbutt Welding Facility.
  • TLIF 2080 Safely access rail corridor
  • TLIW 3016 Weld rail using flashbutt welding
  • MR/HR Drivers Licence.
  • Senior First Aid.
  • Dogging/Rigging Tickets
  • Gantry Crane Tickets
  • Plant Operating Tickets
