About the Project 


John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (JHSWJV) have been successfully awarded the contract for the design and construction of Sydney Gateway Stage 1 and Stage 3.  The project includes 5 kilometres of new road, 16 bridges and close to 3 kilometres of active transport links. 
Benefits of the project include increasing road capacity at Sydney airport, both domestic and international airports.  As well as assisting traffic links to Port Botany and St Peter’s interchange.  JHSWJV will support more than 4,000 jobs over the life of the project.  


Stage 1: International Terminal and Qantas Drive connection – a new high capacity road connection, linking the Sydney Motorway network at St Peter’s interchange with Sydney Airports International Terminal and Qantas Drive.


Stage 3: Domestic Terminal access – an arterial road connection and flyover to Sydney Airport’s Domestic Terminals. This Stage includes improvements to existing roads, to relieve congestion and improve connectivity to Sydney Airport Domestic Terminals and towards Port Botany. 


About the Role


The JHSWJV team are seeking an experienced Sustainability Coordinator to manage sustainability performance across the project. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and provide day to day specialist sustainability support to internal stakeholders, including Group and Regional Sustainability teams.
  • Effective management of sustainability risks.
  • Monitor sustainability requirements in the design and procurement process to achieve compliance
  • Implement and monitor the continual technical improvement of project sustainability management systems.
  • Liaise with government bodies and professional organisations on sustainability matters.
  • Monitor and report on key sustainability performance objectives and standards for managing project sustainability risks.
  • Implement project data collection, auditing and review processes.
  • Provide training to staff on sustainability matters such as assessment tool obligations and other requirements. 
  • Provide advice to engineers, procurement and design team on sustainability requirements



What You’ll Need to Succeed:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines; Green Star Accredited Professional
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a Sustainability and Environment role within the Construction Industry.
  • Knowledge of sustainability rating tools and requirements (e.g.Greenstar, ISCA) 
  • Experience in achieving required Greenstar ratings
