Spanning more than 1,700km, the Australian Government is delivering Inland Rail through the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), in partnership with the private sector.

The Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) section is one of 13 projects that complete Inland Rail and is an upgrade of approximately 188 km of track within the existing rail corridor and construction of approximately 1.6 km of new rail track. The works are required to accommodate the operation of future planned 1,800 m double-stacked freight trains.

The contract for the delivery of Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) was awarded to Trans4m Rail in October 2020.  Trans4m Rail combines the experience of John Holland and SEE Civil. 


About the Role


Trans4M Rail has commenced mobilisation and currently has an opportunity for a Resourcing Co-ordinator to be ideally based in Moree who’ll be responsible for the recruitment of the projects professional staff recruitment as well as assisting with the hiring of workforce crews.

Reporting to the Project Resourcing Manager, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Working closely with the Project Resourcing Manager and hiring managers to determine project resourcing requirements
  • Source suitability qualified and experienced resources for the project including advertising, interviewing and background checking of candidates.
  • Liaise with the project local and indigenous engagement advisor to Implement local candidate sourcing strategies including generation of referrals and local advertising
  • Organising and conducting interviews and reference checks
  • Work closely with the mobilisation coordinator to arrange pre-employment and on-boarding requirements
  • Utilise the project recruitment system – Success Factors to manage the candidate recruitment process
  • Assist the broader People and Social Performance team to provide a high standard of service and support to the overall project team.


Required Skills


Consideration will be given applicants who meet the below criteria;

  • Demonstrated business knowledge and recruitment competency in one or more of the following disciplines: Construction, Engineering, Rail, Heavy Industry and Energy & Resources
  • Experience in end to end recruitment ideally gained from working in an internal recruitment function ideally within a major project environment.
  • Sound understanding of Social Network 
  • Ideally familiar with the local job networks and local capability
  • Demonstrated ability in headhunting / networking
  • Understanding of human resources management practices                             
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in internal recruitment environment is highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of best recruitment practices
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
