About the Project

 

Spanning more than 1,700km, the Australian Government is delivering Inland Rail through the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), in partnership with the private sector.

 

The Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) section is one of 13 projects that complete Inland Rail and is an upgrade of approximately 188 km of track within the existing rail corridor and construction of approximately 1.6 km of new rail track. The works are required to accommodate the operation of future planned 1,800 m double-stacked freight trains.

 

The contract for the delivery of Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) was awarded to Trans4m Rail in October 2020.  Trans4m Rail combines the experience of John Holland and SEE Civil. 

 

About the role

Trans4m Rail are now actively looking to employ Civil Leading Hands starting on site in early 2021

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team of general labour and plant operators
  • Working under the direction of the site supervisor or superintendent
  • Site establishment
  • Coordinate and undertake civil construction and earthworks including:
    • Laydowns (Logistics)
    • Foundations
    • Rail formations
    • Drainage, culverts and structures
    • Stabilizer, Cut and Fill and Site Access
  • Lead and undertake all works in accordance with site and company HSE policies and procedures.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience required:

 

Mandatory:

  • White card
  • Drivers Licence
  • Proven experience leading a small team in a Civil construction environment
  • RMS/TMR
  • RIW Card – Ability to pass Cat 3 Rail Medical

Desirable

  • Mobile plant operator tickets
  • HR Truck Licence
  • LF - Forklift Licence
  • Rigging and Dogging Licences
  • Rail Safe working experience and qualifications
