About the Project

 

Spanning more than 1,700km, the Australian Government is delivering Inland Rail through the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), in partnership with the private sector.

 

The Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) section is one of 13 projects that complete Inland Rail and is an upgrade of approximately 188 km of track within the existing rail corridor and construction of approximately 1.6 km of new rail track. The works are required to accommodate the operation of future planned 1,800 m double-stacked freight trains.

 

The contract for the delivery of Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) was awarded to Trans4m Rail in October 2020.  Trans4m Rail combines the experience of John Holland and SEE Civil. 

 

About the role

 

Trans4m Rail are now actively looking to employ Excavator Operators starting from mid-February 2021.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working under the direction of the leading hand, site supervisor or superintendent
  • Operating Excavators of various sizes to required earthworks specifications
  • Site establishment
  • Participate in civil construction and earthworks activities including:
    • Laydown pads
    • Foundations
    • Rail formations
    • Drainage and culverts
    • Loading Articulated Moxy’s
    • Hammer attachment
  • Undertake all works in accordance with site and company HSE policies and procedures.

 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience required:

 

Mandatory:

  • White card
  • Drivers Licence
  • Excavator Ticket – Must be experienced with Trimble GPS
  • RIW – Ability to pass Cat 3 Rail Medical (Full functional with Drug and Alcohol)

Desirable:

  • Mobile plant operator tickets
  • HR Truck Licence
  • LF - Forklift Licence
  • Rigging and Dogging Licences
  • Rail Safe working experience and qualifications
