About the Project


Spanning more than 1,700km, the Australian Government is delivering Inland Rail through the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), in partnership with the private sector.


The Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) section is one of 13 projects that complete Inland Rail and is an upgrade of approximately 188 km of track within the existing rail corridor and construction of approximately 1.6 km of new rail track. The works are required to accommodate the operation of future planned 1,800m double-stacked freight trains.


The contract for the delivery of Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) was awarded to Trans4m Rail in October 2020.  Trans4m Rail combines the experience of John Holland and SEE Civil. 

About the Role:


We are seeking an experienced Project Engineers to join our project. If you have expereince in Structures and Drainage or Civil Earthworks we are currently interviewing for these roles;
 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications.
  • Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports.
  • Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manager or Project Manager.
  • Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects.
  • Contribute to improvements to existing designs.
  • Arrange and oversee the letting of tenders.
  • Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions.
  • Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards.
  • Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project.
  • Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting, compliance reporting.
  • Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
  • Utilise effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management. 
  • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.

Key Project Details

 

  1. 2 & 1 Roster (Fly or drive in on Thursday on your time and return on Thursday our time)
  2. FIFO from either Brisbane or Sydney / DIDO options limited to 3-4 hours from Moree, NSW
  3. Long term work
  4. Camp Accommodation - All food and travel provided

To be successful in this role:


To be successful in this key role, you must have: 

• Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or other relevant discipline
• Proven experience with a top-tier or mid-tier building contractor delivering projects in excess of $100 million 
• Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder managements skills
• Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
