About the Project


Spanning more than 1,700km, the Australian Government is delivering Inland Rail through the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), in partnership with the private sector.

The Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) section is one of 13 projects that complete Inland Rail and is an upgrade of approximately 188 km of track within the existing rail corridor and construction of approximately 1.6 km of new rail track. The works are required to accommodate the operation of future planned 1,800 m double-stacked freight trains.

The contract for the delivery of Narrabri to North Star (N2NS) was awarded to Trans4m Rail in October 2020.  Trans4m Rail combines the experience of John Holland and SEE Civil. 



About the Role


Trans4m Rail are now actively looking to employ 3 x Track Leading Hands to lead out internal and subcontractors to build the Narrabri to North Star section of the Inland Rail.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of general Rail labour, Trades and Plant operators
  • Working under the direction of the site supervisor or superintendent
  • Site establishment
  • Coordinate and undertake Track Construction and Track Stripping:
    • Site Administration and record keeping
    • Rail formations
    • Reponsible for the safety of all personnel and subcontractors on site
    • Implement and monitor site quality control
  • Lead and undertake all works in accordance with site and company HSE policies and procedures.
