About The Project

 

The M7-M12 Integration project located in Western Sydney is delivering the connection between the new toll-free M12 Motorway and the existing M7 Motorway; a new connection between the M12 and Elizabeth Drive, and the realignment of Wallgrove and Cecil Roads at Cecil Park. A new lane will also be added in each direction within the existing median of the M7 between the M5 and Richmond Road. The M7-M12 project supports future development growth in Western Sydney by improving travel times and congestion. Once complete, the project will provide direct access to commercial and residential hubs, and the new Western Sydney International Airport.

 

On the M7-M12 Integration project, we are committed to delivering beneficial social, cultural, environmental and economic outcomes. The project is committed to delivering an industry leading sustainable outcome and is currently delivering an ISC (Infrastructure Sustainability Council) rating. 

About The Role


Are you passionate about climate change and improving sustainable outcomes in construction? Look no further than the John Holland M7-M12 Integration Project! We are seeking an enthusiastic Sustainability Officer to join our team based in Cecil Park, NSW. You will support the implementation of an industry leading projects sustainability agenda by delivering sustainability objectives across the M7-M12 Integration project. 

 

A key component of this role is the facilitation of sustainability data and reporting and supporting the integration of positive sustainability outcomes across the project. We are open to supporting both full-time candidates and those seeking part-time work. Additionally, this position would be suitable for individuals who have recently obtained their qualification or are currently studying towards a qualification.

 

Responsibilities of the role include: 

 

  • Provide administrative support to sustainability project requirements and work with the Sustainability manager to drive sustainability outcomes on the project.
  •  
  • Facilitate the collection, analysis and interpretation of sustainability data using John Holland sustainability systems.
  • Assisting with the full range of sustainability initiatives, including but not limited to environmental resilience, energy, water and waste efficiency, increased material recycling, and climate change management.
  • Assisting with a wide range of sustainability activities including but not limited to inspections, audits, implementation of Sustainability Management System, data analysis, preparing reports and documentation, and delivering the sustainability action plan.

  • Develop and track sustainability objectives and targets covering each relevant function, reporting on sustainability outcomes against objectives/targets to assure that high standards of sustainability performance are being attained.

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

 

  • Good attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Genuine interest in Sustainability and Climate Change in construction. 
  • Self-driven, ambitious and ability to work independently.
  • It is preferable, but not essential, the suitable candidate would hold an environmental related degree or is working towards obtaining one. 
  • Excellent data collection and analytical skills.
  • Experience in the use of company software for data collection.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Power BI.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of, or interest in, the Infrastructure Sustainability Council IS Rating Scheme, or other sustainability rating tools, as a means of demonstrating and benchmarking industry performance.
