The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.

About the Role

 

Assist in preparations and negotiate with sub-contractors for the calling of quotations and letting of contracts and provide contract administration services to assist in the project’s control of contract costs. 

What you will do;

 

  • Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations issued to subcontractors for projects.
  • Conduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisation’s conditions relating to contracts for prospective projects.
  • ­Manage and drive the review process to ensure the award of all subcontractors within the required time frame and budget.
  • ­Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial Pack database and Contract Sum.
  • ­Ensure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained and keep project management teams abreast of any costs issues immediately upon identification.
  • Interpret specifications and drawings so as to understand scope of works for the project at Head Contract and Sub Contract scope level.
  • Participate in identification and quantification of Head Contracts.
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure that Code compliance is maintained at all times.
  • Assess commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery and implementation of projects and identify and implement controls.
  • Check compliance and prepare reporting on commercial performance of the contract.
  • ­Process and recommend progress claims for work completed and refer disputed claims by subcontractors to the relevant manager for decision.
  • Undertake general business administration.

What we are looking for;

 

Qualifications:

Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent.

Post graduate qualifications e.g. graduate certificate, graduate diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Business, Construction, Property, Quantity Surveying, Law or other associated discipline.

 

Experience:

  • Relevant commercial administration experience in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or associated disciplines.
  • ­Intermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and exposure to a contract management system (CRM)
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry.
  • ­Understanding of document control experience in accordance with records management procedures.
  • Interpret and apply relevant legislation/code on the project to prevent potential business exposure.
