The Project:
The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031. The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.
The Role:
The Junior Site Engineer will support onsite engineering activities by providing technical assistance in planning, coordination, and reporting. This role works closely with site supervision staff to ensure short‑term work programs and schedules are accurately developed and delivered.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in daily prestart and toolbox meetings and engage with workforce and supervisors to ask what they need and what can be improved
- Engage in scheduled site safety walks and make enquiries of workers and supervisors about what they need and what can be improved
- Seek out experienced personnel i.e. Superintendents / SPEs / Commercial Manager to better understand a complex challenge that you face
- Maintain site diaries with relevant information that allows the tracking of progress and early identification of any issues
- Participate in the development and ensure implementation, monitoring and documentation of TRAs and Procedures
- Review and understand AMS/GMRs in collaboration with Supervisors/ Superintendents
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Site engineering experience, preferably on civil projects
- Proficient in relevant software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite and document management tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to facilitate meetings, toolbox talks, and coordinate with site teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
