About the Alliance

 

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

 

We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Australian and South Australian governments to deliver this city shaping project that will provide safe and efficient journeys for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists, connect open spaces and recreational facilities, and unlock economic opportunities and growth for South Australia. 

 

The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.

 

About the Role;

 

Coordinate on-site construction engineering activities to achieve project time and budget objectives. 

 

What you will do;

 

  •     Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
  • ­    Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports
  • ­    Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manger or Project Manager
  • ­    Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects
  • ­    Contribute to improvements to existing designs
  • ­    Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions 
  • ­    Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards
  • ­    Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project
  • ­    Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of construction works. 
  • ­    Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting 
  • ­    Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes
  • ­    Utilise effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management
     

What we are looking for;

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent

Diploma of Project Management in Engineering Science, Building, Construction or equivalent

Chartered Engineering Status 

 

Experience:

•    Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer in the utilities sector, specifically across all major utility services including relocation and protection.
•    Strong technical knowledge and understanding of utility infrastructure systems, regulations, and industry best practices.
•    Sub-contractor management including scope of works creation and tendering.
•    Ability to collaborate with the site foreman and site staff for project needs and to deliver project updates in daily pre-start meetings.
•    Coordination between site and project office with current information, issues and risks. Demonstrated site experience would be highly regarded.
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
•    Familiarization of AS-5488.1 will be highly regarded.
