The Project

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

 

The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.

The role

This position will be responsible for supporting the health and wellbeing strategy.  A key component of the role will also be to provide injury and claims management support that encourages employees to both recover at and return to work whilst promoting and facilitating best practice injury management. The role will focus on both physical and mental health and wellbeing, working with injured workers, their managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure a supported and timely return to work program. The role is also equally responsible for developing and coordinating the project’s health and wellbeing strategy and initiatives. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong interest in health, wellbeing and rehabilitation, and ideally experience in a similar role of working in health care background, as well as a keen interest in both health and physical fitness.

 

You will be part of a large health and safety team reporting directly to the HS Director, you will be integral in developing and implementing health and wellbeing strategies and supporting the teams I the field to promote healthy workers.  Further you will be provided support and encouragement to work with site teams and upskill team members in rehabilitation practices.  A further key component will be working with local medical providers to support return to work and promote a healthy workforce.

 

This role provides great opportunities to work in a large team and gain experience and knowledge in construction safety and be in the field promoting our wellbeing strategy. 

About you

  • Qualified or working towards qualifications in health related programmes such as Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Occupational Rehabilitation or Physiotherapy
  • Ability to effectively coordinate workers compensation claims management processes and early intervention strategies
  • Ability to assist in interpreting and apply workers compensation legislative standards and guidelines as they apply to organisational claim management and rehabilitation initiatives
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, consult with, and provide advice on workers compensation claims management and rehabilitation issues
  • Communicate with a broad range of stakeholders, building positive working relationships, and effectively influence others to ensure best practice
  • Strong organisational and time management capability
  • Keen to get involved in promoting and initiating the wellbeing strategy
