About the Alliance
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Australian and South Australian governments to deliver this city shaping project that will provide safe and efficient journeys for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists, connect open spaces and recreational facilities, and unlock economic opportunities and growth for South Australia.
The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.
About the Role
Coordinate on-site engineering functions for allocated projects to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient support for construction activities
What you will do;
- Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, and/or Cost/Planning Engineers
- Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications
- Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
- Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
- Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings
- Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements
- Participate in planning future requirements including machine tools, ancillary equipment, major plant and labour.
- Direct site surveys and preparatory work prior to construction.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of construction work.
What we are looking for;
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
Diploma of Project Management in Engineering Science, Building, Construction or equivalent
Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent
Experience:
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in the utilities sector, specifically across all major utility services including relocation and protection.
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of utility infrastructure systems, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Ability to manage and coordinate complex projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Sub-contractor management including Scope of Works creation and tendering.
• Responsible to manage of Project Engineers and Site Engineers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Familiarization of AS-5488.1 will be highly regarded.
