About the Program - SA Water Program South

 

In a joint venture with Guidera O’Connor, John Holland is delivering capital projects for SA Water under a four-year framework agreement for up to $500m, focused on water services across southern metropolitan Adelaide and regional areas of SA.

 

Together, we will deliver a diverse portfolio of projects which includes dam upgrades, water tank refurbishments, water main replacements, sewerage network upgrades and water treatment process changes, with work spread across both the metropolitan area and regions.

 

About the Position:

 

As a Senior Safety Advisor, you will monitor and support the safety function of the project to provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems and procedures on the SA Water Program.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Guide and support the Construction Team to develop and implement a safety culture that aligns to the company vision, including adequate development and training in safety critical roles
  • Ensure the projects maintains robust risk management processes, capability, focus and discipline related to safety
  • Investigate all causes of events on site and recommend actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Provide specialist support to internal stakeholders including operational leaders, project employees, contractors, clients and visitors
  • Ensure the project understands and have the tools to meet their regulatory and legal safety obligations
  • Maintain comprehensive safety records, manage statutory reporting requirements and monitor safety performance progress
  • Maintain an update-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and company safety requirements, ensuring workplace are informed of relevant changes

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Advanced Diploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Safety Lead Auditor Qualification
  • Construction Tier 1 experience (5+ years)
  • Audit management practices (2-3 years)
  • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
  • Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to the program
  • Knowledge of Environmental legislation and statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to the program
