About The Project

 

John Holland is delivering the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade (B2N) on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast – a major rail infrastructure program designed to increase capacity, improve reliability and support the region’s long-term growth.
This complex, multi‑disciplinary project includes significant signalling, rail systems and interface works delivered in a live rail environment, requiring close collaboration with Queensland Rail, designers, certifiers and delivery partners.
Based at Beerburrum project site, this project offers exposure to a large-scale rail upgrade and the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact transport solution while developing your career within a Tier 1 environment

About the role

 

As a Safety Administrator, you will play a critical supporting role within the project’s safety team. This position is responsible for ensuring that all safety systems, documentation, and compliance processes are effectively maintained, accurate, and consistently up to date.

You will support the delivery of the project by helping to ensure compliance with strict rail safety standards, contributing to a safe working environment for all personnel. A key part of the role is assisting in keeping John Holland audit-ready at all times, ensuring that all records, reports, and safety documentation meet both internal requirements and external regulatory obligations.

Through proactive coordination and attention to detail, you will help ensure that the project operates efficiently, remains compliant, and upholds the highest safety standards across all activities.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with project safety systems, procedures, and relevant legislation
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage safety documentation, reports, and records to keep the project audit-ready
  • Support incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and review high-risk works to ensure compliance with approved methods
  • Administer safety programs, including training records, worker support, and coordination across the workforce
  • Assist with workers’ compensation and rehabilitation processes
  • Build strong relationships with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and regulators to promote a positive safety culture

What We Are Looking For

 

  • Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Bachelor degree in Quality, Safety, Environmental, Project Management or other associated disciplines (highly regarded) 
  • Expirience with construction safety management and interpreting audit reviews ­
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls ­
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing and reporting on performance, compliance and defects ­
  • Skills in safety management techniques and tools
