About the Project:
John Holland and Seymour Whyte have been engaged to deliver the Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Rail Upgrade Stage 1 project. The project is set to increase the capacity and reliability of the North Coast Line, enabling more efficient travel and improved passenger and freight connections between the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Brisbane and beyond.
We are looking for a Temporary Works Coordinator to join the project to ensure the safe planning, design, implementation, and dismantling of temporary works on-site, while maintaining compliance with legal and project requirements. You will act as a vital link between the design team and site operations to mitigate risks and ensure project efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinating and managing all temporary works activities on the construction site
- Ensuring that all temporary works designs are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Reviewing and approving temporary works designs and ensuring they meet project requirements
- Liaising with design teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of temporary works activities
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate control measures for temporary works
- Monitoring the installation, use, and dismantling of temporary works to ensure compliance with approved designs and safe working practices
- Providing technical advice and support to project teams regarding temporary works
- Maintaining accurate documentation, including records of temporary works activities and compliance
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience with a large tier contractor in Australia, ideally delivering road, rail or bridge projects
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of temporary work activities
- Sub-contractor management including scope of works creation and tendering
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in relevant field Inc. Engineering, Engineering Science, Building or Construction
- Ability to collaborate with the site foreman and site staff for project needs and to deliver project updates in daily pre-start meetings
- Coordination between site and project office with current information, issues and risks. Demonstrated site experience would be highly regarded
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
