About the Belmont Desal project:
A 30 ML/d seawater desalination plant will be delivered at Belmont South NSW, to provide weather independent supply to the community in the lower Hunter region.
Seen as one of the largest capital projects in the water sector in Hunter region, the community is expecting a sustainable outcome for the nature of a seawater desalination plant. It is also the first project in Hunter Water pursuing an IS Rating, as part of its Carbon Neutral Strategy by 2035.
Your Role:
Accountable for contributing to a multidisciplinary commissioning team of engineers and technicians across mechanical, electrical, process and controls systems to successfully deliver commissioning outcomes in line with the Commissioning Plan and under the direction of the Commissioning Manager.
The key responsibilities;
- Safe and compliant execution of all commissioning activities
- Providing input to the Commissioning Plan, programme activities and monthly cost reviews of the commissioning cost codes.
- Develop and produce commissioning documentation including plans, procedures, checklists, ITP’s, ITR’s and risk assessments and verify that the commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with the plans.
- Lead a team in pre-commissioning, controls, commissioning, performance, and reliability testing as described in the Commissioning Plan and in accordance with the Technical Specification.
- Lead and manage delivery of operational readiness documentation and systems.
- Ensure that the handover of the asset to Operations is completed meeting all requirements.
- Review and incorporate vendor documentation and requirements relating commissioning of components.
- Coordinate the input of vendors for commissioning activities
- Provide support and input to develop and produce the operations and maintenance documentation described in the Technical Specification.
- Responsible for the temporary works design as required for the commissioning activities.
- Prepare, supervise, and conduct training of the plant operators.
- Provide technical support and be prepared to attend site on an emergency call-out basis if required.
About You:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Automation Engineering
- Extensive experience in M&E installation, controls testing & commissioning within large scale construction of water and/or wastewater treatment plants
- Proven experience delivering commissioning outcomes on complex projects in a senior or lead capacity
