About the Project
John Holland is progressing the development of Stage 1A of the multi-stage Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal project, a pivotal development set to transform the logistics landscape in Victoria, Australia. This initial phase marks the beginning of a journey towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline the movement of goods across the nation and beyond.

With the latest advancements in logistics technology at its core, Stage 1A lays the groundwork for a hub of innovation, ensuring that cargo is moved with unprecedented speed and precision.

About the Role
As a Project Engineer with a focus on Structures on the Beveridge Intermodal Project, you will play a key role in delivering complex, large‑scale structural works on one of Victoria’s most significant freight infrastructure projects.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Engineering Manager and construction teams, you will support the end‑to‑end delivery of permanent and temporary structures, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, on time and within budget.
This role offers strong exposure across design coordination, construction planning and on‑site delivery. You will liaise directly with designers, subcontractors and suppliers, manage technical queries and approvals, and provide engineering leadership to ensure quality outcomes across all structural elements. With the project in active delivery, this is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to step into a highly visible role on a nationally significant project with long‑term career development opportunities.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Managing the planning and delivery of structural works
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to achieve program, cost and quality outcomes
- Preparing and managing ITPs, work packs, permits and technical documentation
- Supporting cost control, forecasting, variations and progress claims
- Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements
- Collaborating with stakeholders across design, construction and project controls
- Contributing to a strong safety culture aligned with John Holland values
What we are looking for:
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer (Structure) on major infrastructure or complex construction projects
- Strong understanding of building construction methodologies and sequencing
- Sound commercial awareness and experience working to budgets and programs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- A proactive mindset with a focus on safety, quality and delivery excellence
