About the Project

 

The Linewide Alliance, comprising John Holland, Alstom, RATP Dev, KBR and WSP, are excited to be delivering the transformative Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Linewide package.

 

When SRL opens, the new rail services for passengers will also be delivered by, a venture between RATP Dev and John Holland to operate and maintain the franchise for 15 years from 2035, to be known as TransitLinx.

 

The Alliance will deliver a world-class, service-proven driverless metro system that sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and reliability for Melbourne.

 

SRL is a transport and urban planning project that will deliver world-class public transport, reduce travel times, and support the delivery of more homes and housing.

 

About the Role

 

A Senior Safety Advisor is a Safety professional with a significant amount of experience delivering and supporting safety and wellbeing programs and activities.

 

The role works with a high degree of autonomy in supporting safety programs, making recommendations, and driving compliance and improvements to safety systems,

 

processes, and tools on the SRL WPF Stations Alliance North Project. 

What you will do;

 

•    Provide researched and class leading recommendations to project management and executives on safety issues. 
•    Provide timely, accurate and frank advice and recommendations to project management on implementation of safety procedures and addressing safety issues
•    Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies and procedures, and the alignment of these policies and procedures to enterprise Safety strategies. 
•    Deliver end-to-end safety management services including leading and managing investigations, audits, inspections, return to work and subcontractor compliance.
•    Deliver safety training programs to ensure all staff are aware of safety protocols and procedures.
•    Monitor and analyse safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
•    Collaborate with external regulatory bodies and industry groups to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
•    Manage the implementation of safety initiatives and campaigns to enhance safety culture across  the project, including Wellbeing and Mental Health awareness.
•    Complete routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas.
•    Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for;

 

Qualification:

•    Diploma level in WHS or equivalent 
•    Lead auditor qualification 
•    ICAM or equivalent training 

 

Experience:

•    Significant experience in a safety advisory role within the construction industry.
•    Extensive experience in implementing safety management systems.
•    Proven track record of conducting risk assessments and safety inspections.
•    Demonstrated ability to identify and implement strategic process improvements.
•    Experience in leading and mentoring junior staff on safety management practices.
•    Exceptional report writing and presentation skills.
•    Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
•    Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
