As  our Queensland/ Northern Territory Infrastructure business continues to show strong signs of growth after successfully tendering key major projects, we’re now well positioned to introduce an experienced, Queensland based, Business Development Manager to be the face of John Holland and ensure we maintain our positive momentum and deliver on our strategic growth objectives.

 

As the Business Development Manager, you will work within the National Infrastructure Team with a focus on the Queensland and Northern Territory. Your remit will be;

 

  • Selectively analyse business and new work opportunities and recommend the allocation of resources to turn these opportunities into wins for our business
  • Develop and actively manage relationships with existing clients and industry partners who foster, recommend and refer work
  • Identify major prospects and determine and improve the probability of John Holland winning the project
  • Identify new market sectors and develop and implement a business strategy to effectively penetrate those markets
  • Liaise with other internal business development specialists to exchange industry intelligence and coordinate plans for each market segment as part of a national team
  • Undertake commercial reviews of prospects to ensure each is financially viable and can meet margin expectations and corporate governance guidelines
  • Work with new business and pre-contracts teams to convert prospects into projects through both EOI and Tender Phases
  • Develop, analyse and report on tender performance

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

 

  • 5+ years of Business development, sales or marketing experience in construction or a related field, preferably at a Tier 1 level
  • High level of commercial and engineering acumen and strong understanding of the bid or tender management process
  • Strong existing relationships in the Queensland and Northern Territory construction industry across government and private sectors as well as key partners including consultants
  • Comprehensive knowledge of localised market sectors, opportunities and key influences that impact our industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in proposal writing and a knack for expressing complex ideas in simple language
