About the Role

In this key role you will assist in the management of the commercial and contracts function for the Strategic Procurement and Commercial teams. You will be forming relationships at senior levels of the supply chain and impacting the success of our projects through managing the existing framework agreements as well as providing global sourcing support as required. This is a 12 month contract and we are flexible for this role to be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.

 

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Maintenance of a register of Framework Agreements and identifying all key data in relation to each agreement.
  • Supplier Relationship Management of Framework Agreements including promoting utilisation of Framework Agreements by projects, facilitating collaboration between John Holland and Framework Agreement suppliers’ stakeholders.
  • Lead the projects and bids overseas procurement and provide the projects advice and guidance in all matters pertaining to overseas procurement, including Pre-qualification, QA and logistics.
  • Ensuring selected subcontractors and suppliers are acceptable to the project.
  • Conducting negotiations with subcontractors and ensure agreements are closely aligned to the project’s risk management principals.
  • Overseeing the procurement process for all subcontract and supply agreements to ensure that all packages are awarded on time and within budget.
  • Overseeing the calling of quotations and letting of tenders for contracts to be let and ensuring effective contract administration.
  • Interpreting and applying relevant legislation/code to prevent potential business exposure.
  • Managing and resolving any disputes or disagreements between projects and Framework agreement holders.


To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate;

 

  • 5+ years relevant commercial/contractual experience across a variety or project values and complexities within construction and engineering.
  • Global sourcing and logistics experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills across contractual terms, variations and progress claims.
  • Demonstrated application of Corporate Limits of Liabilities and contractual and commercial systems, processes and procedures.
  • Financial acumen and stakeholder management.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or associated disciplines (or equivalent on the job experience).
