Based in our Brisbane office we currently have a nine-month maternity leave contract available for a Senior People Advisor supporting the QLD / NT Infrastructure business unit and its projects. This is a lead role that will see you supporting the full life cycle of Projects in the region from pre contracts through to project launch and mobilisation, delivery, and demobilisation.

 

Key responsibilities are to lead the generalist “People” related activities such as but not limited to:

 

  • Provide generalist Human Resource and People support for projects that do not have specific HR resources or teams
  • Provide additional HR support to projects that currently have dedicated HR teams
  • Support and deliver the Enterprise-wide People, Inclusion, Diversity, Talent and Development strategy
  • Act as conduit between Corporate/BU and local projects, ensuring the delivery of enterprise programs and plans are embedded consistently
  • Provide ongoing support for operations in general employee relations such as counselling and disciplinary action, investigations, project demobilisation and terminations
  • Provide recommendations on salary benchmarking and remuneration packages, including the annual remuneration review and promotions
  • Provide data and progress reports related to people activities to support continuous business improvement and risk identification
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing and support the recruitment function for Project or BU
  • Work with operational leads and project managers to ensure appropriate resourcing levels on projects and any change management requirements
  • Support the pre contracts teams in resourcing planning, the development of tender responses and management plans
  • Strategic workforce planning and resource allocation to support ongoing operational requirements, minimising risk to the broader business
  • Assist with the project launch phase upon project or contract award including resource planning, local industry and participation requirements and system and process set up
  • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, and procedures

About you

 

  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Management, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ previous experience in a similar position with exposure to engineering, construction, manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven HR administration and people management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to interpret HR policies, procedures and industrial agreements to provide advice to management and employees.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, working with a broad range of people from varying backgrounds.
  • Competent with MS Office and other related business communication tools.
  • Recognised ability to organise, prioritise and work well under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
