We’re currently looking to recruit an experienced Sustainability Manager who’ll play a key role in delivering one of the states’ key infrastructure projects based on the Gold Coast. The role presents an opportunity for an energetic individual to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver some of the most progressive Sustainability outcomes in Australia.


Responsibilities of the role include;


  • Drive sustainable performance through the design and construction phases of the project
  • Work in collaboration with disciplines including precontracts, procurement, design and delivery to ensure the embedding of sustainable practices, identification and realisation of initiatives and the achievement of best practice outcomes
  • Implement actions, procedures and tools that provides surety of successful project delivery, in compliance with the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA), project Sustainability Management Plan and the project's contractual obligations 
  • Effectively communicate key sustainability information to the relevant teams and where appropriate, internal and external stakeholders 
  • Review and manage the performance of the Design Team to ensure Design Sustainability Objectives and Initiatives are being achieved
  • Compilation of Infrastructure ISCA submissions as the key liaison with ISCA to ensure the project Design & Construction Ratings are achieved
  • Asses, track and report on the project’s performance against sustainability targets
  • Conduct on site and external audits to review and ensure compliance with sustainability objectives
  • Contribute to the sustainability training program for project personnel and contractors, and support sustainability management tools training 
  • Assist in the establishment of methods to increase the awareness of sustainability issues across the project and with the supply chain
  • In addition to the above the sustainability requirements the successful applicant will be required to also provide general environmental support in the precontracts, mobilisation, delivery and post-delivery / completions parts of the business.


To be successful in this key role, you must have;


  • 10+ years professional experience in environment / sustainability field
  • Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP) Mandatory
  • Relevant degree in engineering, environmental science or related discipline
  • Experience in delivering Infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience in delivery ISCA rated projects – Design & Construct
  • Experience in precontracts function for Environment and Sustainability
  • Candidate must be willing to work in both regional office from time to time and be project based
