About John Holland

John Holland as part of a JV has been awarded a major works contract for the delivery of Light Rail Stage 2A – City to Commonwealth Park in Canberra ACT. The project will see three new stops built at Edinburgh Avenue, City South and Commonwealth Avenue, extending the network by 1.7 kilometres.

 

John Holland is currently seeking a People Undergraduate to join the team based in Canberra’s CBD.
As a People Undergraduate, you will see first-hand what it takes to deliver major projects from a people perspective. The role will be a great kick start to your human resources career . All we ask of you is a positive attitude and a willingness to take on any tasks requested of you.
 

Some of your responsibilities will include:
-Input of staff training data into spreadsheets and systems and follow up outstanding information
-Assist the people administrator to maintain accurate records of employee qualifications, ensuring compliance with project and industry standards.
-Assist with onboarding and offboarding including keeping equipment registers updated
-Support project events related to inclusion, under direction from the HR/IR Manager and/or Office Manager
-Support HR initiatives and projects

 

To be considered for this role, you must be:
-A 3rd or 4th year HR Student
-Available to work at least 2 days a week 

 

We also expect that you will have:

-Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite. 
-Ability to build and develop good working relationships
-Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise 
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-High level of attention to detail and accuracy
-Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
