About The Role

 

You are a skilled Senior Contracts Administrator, ready to play a pivotal role in Sydney's landmark M7-M12 Integration project at John Holland. 

 

In this role you will be instrumental in shaping Western Sydney's transport future. The role will require strategic commercial management of key subcontracts and in-house operations. You will collaborate seamlessly with stakeholders – both internal and external - and lead your team to ensure the project's financial success.

 

Here’s what you’ll do: 

 

 

  • Draft tender packages and scopes of work for subcontractor quotations and assist engineers in this function.
  • Engage with subcontractors to clarify contract terms and agree contract departures. Manage the subcontract award process within project timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain accurate subcontractor registers and using the project’s commercial systems. John Holland uses bespoke systems such as Project Costs Reporting (PCR) and PPW. 
  • Interpret project specifications and drawings and ensure subcontractors comply with the specifications, drawings and the Building Code. Monitoring subcontract  performance.
  • Process subcontractor progress claims, manage progress claims, manage variations and disputes. Undertake general business administration in line with John Holland's policies and procedures.
  • Provide management and leadership to other direct reports and guidance to the wider team.
     

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

 

  • A relevant degree or graduate qualification in Construction Management or Quantity, Surveying, Engineering, Law, Accounting, or equivalent. 
  • Proven commercial experience on large scale infrastructure projects or similar. 
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite, in particular excel and word.
  • Advanced level of industry experience as a Contracts Administrator, or Quantity Surveyor, with exposure to various projects and a range of project complexities.
  • A thorough understanding of large contractor project procedures
  • The ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and codes to ensure project success.
