About Inland Rail
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. This new section of rail corridor will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
What is needed?
We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Coordinator to work on our Illabo to Stockinbingal project (I2S) willing to explore a new opportunity in regional NSW.
This role will be a Monday-Friday Sydney-based role until construction commences in September. The role will then be a 2:1 Roster based on site in Stockinbingal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under direction, develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans, process control procedures, testing and analysis procedures, inspection & test plans to ensure that products meet specifications and standard
- Maintain the project management documentation schedule in conjunction with the Quality Systems & Completions Coordinator and the Senior Project Engineers
- Administer the implementation of Project Pack Web Quality Modules and PowerBi Reporting Dashboards
Provide technical advice and assistance to the Project Team for quality-related activities - Validate work lot records for conformance and completeness
- Verify procured materials and products conform to specification before incorporating them in the works
- Perform audits and surveillance of project activities, as necessary, to ensure the quality of service, product, and workmanship meets the requirements of the project and ensure all actions are closed out within a timely and efficient manner
- Understand compliance and reporting procedures and processes
- Undertake all tasks within the role safely, in accordance with the key elements of the JH Management System governing GMRs, HSES Policies, HSES Management Manuals, SQE Risk Management System and Our HSE Behaviours.
Perform all duties in accordance with Illabo to Stockinbingal and John Holland Sustainability and wellbeing policies, processes, systems, and procedures including our Corporate Sustainability Framework.
To be successful you will have:
- Diploma or Lead Auditor Qualification in Engineering, Science, Building, Construction, Quality Management or Project Management
- Bachelor Degree course in Engineering, Science, Building, Construction, Quality Management or Project Management
- Experience with quality management system, planning techniques and tools
- Awareness of relevant Australian and International standards, both technical and those related to management systems
- 5+ years engineering or construction experience, preferably civil / rail infrastructure
About you:
- Experience on complex Rail/Infrastructure projects
- Willing to DIDO
- Be open to working a 2:1 roster (2 weeks on / 1 week off)
- Or, willing to relocate yourself within an hour’s commute of Cootamundra/Stockinbingal.
