About Inland Rail
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
 
The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. This new section of rail corridor will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.

 

What is needed?
We are currently looking for Site Engineer-Track. As a Site Engineer you will provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff

We are seeking people for our Illabo to Stockinbingal project (I2S) willing to explore a new opportunity in regional NSW. 

This role will  be a 2:1 Roster based on site in Cootamundra and surrounds.

 

Responsibilities of the role include:
-Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards and JHG SQE Risk Management process
-Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager
-Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e. construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.
-Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets
-Verify subcontractors’ claims and variations
-Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager
-Maintain drawing register controls for the project
-Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes 
-Work tasks to include formation improvement, track drainage, capping works, ballast installation, construction of skeleton track, tamping/surfacing works, welding and destressing works
-Work & coordinate with the supervision team to delivery team objectives

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

-Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent
-Minimum 2 years’ engineering experience
-Construction management and specific technical skills base relevant to program of work and discipline area
-Skill in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures


About you:
-Experience on complex Rail/Infrastructure projects

-Be open to working a 2:1 roster (2 weeks on / 1 week off)
-Willing to DIDO
-Or, willing to relocate yourself within an hour’s commute of Cootamundra/Stockinbingal.
