About the Project
The Linewide Alliance, comprising John Holland, Alstom, RATP Dev, KBR and WSP, are excited to be delivering the transformative Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Linewide package.
When SRL opens, the new rail services for passengers will also be delivered by, a venture between RATP Dev and John Holland to operate and maintain the franchise for 15 years from 2035, to be known as TransitLinx.
The Alliance will deliver a world-class, service-proven driverless metro system that sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and reliability for Melbourne.
SRL is a transport and urban planning project that will deliver world-class public transport, reduce travel times, and support the delivery of more homes and housing.
About the Role
Coordinate on-site construction engineering activities to achieve project time and budget objectives.
What you will do;
Lead and manage the planning, coordination, and delivery of ground improvement works, including piling, crushed rock placement for piling pads, ensuring alignment with program and budget.
Oversee the installation of drilled displacement columns, execution of impact rolling, and construction of piling working platforms.
Collaborate with designers, subcontractors, surveyors and project teams to develop and implement technical solutions to meet project requirements.
Monitor on-site activities to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and quality assurance documentation.
Prepare and maintain daily and weekly production reports, including tracking progress against key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring key milestones are met..
Develop, maintain and communicate look ahead programs for the works.
Daily coordination with Subcontractors, Supervision and the wider team to minimise site issues.
Identify and address design and construction challenges proactively, ensuring timely resolution.
Develop and implement methodologies to improve production rates and minimise delays.
Develop and implement safety and quality documentation.
What we are looking for;
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Proven experience in ground improvement techniques, including drilled displacement columns and piling platform construction.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, material placement and piling works.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in construction of working platforms, optimising material deliveries and skills in managing site logistics to maximise productivity.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience managing subcontractors and fostering collaborative working relationships.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A commitment to safety, quality, environmental and sustainability in engineering practices.
