About the Project

The Linewide Alliance, comprising John Holland, Alstom, RATP Dev, KBR and WSP, are excited to be delivering the transformative Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Linewide package.

When SRL opens, the new rail services for passengers will also be delivered by a venture between RATP Dev and John Holland to operate and maintain the franchise for 15 years from 2035, to be known as TransitLinx.

The Alliance will deliver a world-class, service-proven driverless metro system that sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and reliability for Melbourne.

SRL is a transport and urban planning project that will deliver world-class public transport, reduce travel times, and support the delivery of more homes and housing.

About the Role

We are seeking a Temporary Works Coordinator to actively engage with the Temporary Works Manager and members of the engineering, delivery, and design teams across the Linewide Alliance.  In this role you will coordinate the identification, management, and performance of temporary works designs and construction activities to support the project program, providing a line of communication between site personnel to the design team to assist with constructability inputs and management of RFIs and change requests.

Temporary Works Coordinators ensure that temporary works packages and design consultants follow Linewide Alliance processes and undertake value engineering, Safety in Design (SiD), and risk and opportunity identification exercises to meet project needs, embedding construction methodology in the design and planning phases of the project to adequately address risk and compliance through delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to discrete Temporary Works design packages, and management all aspects of their Temporary Works team (program, deliverables, budget, etc)
  • Review subcontractor contracts for Temporary Works scope gaps or interface management
  • Setup Design Workflows and responsibilities for consultants and relevant Temporary Works Stakeholders
  • Coordinate design programs to ensure it correctly links all critical path activities to ensure any risk from delays are identified early and addressed accordingly
  • Coordinate, interpret and distribute outputs from Temporary Works design packages with relevant stakeholders
  • Support construction team with development of Temporary Works briefs for other Temporary Works design packages relating to various construction activities, also manage any Temporary Works consultant deliverables, budget, etc
  • Support construction team with development, coordination and updating the Temporary Works Register with all temporary works design packages, including specific Temporary Works risk assessments and categorisation
  • Support construction team with development of Risks/Opportunities register and coordinate outputs from these (Staging Modifications, Ties Recycling, Early Fabric Options, strengthening options for program advantages)
  • Ensure construction team and relevant subcontractors adhere to site validation procedures (Permit to Load, Monitoring & Inspection, and Permit to Remove) for Temporary Works
  • Assist external consultants with concept development for Temporary Works design packages
  • Ensure residual risks relating to Temporary Works design packages are identified by the designer and communicated to the workforce

About You

You will hold a degree qualification in Engineering (or equivalent) and understand various Temporary Works solutions and applicable design standards.

You will have:

  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary consultants
  • Awareness of contemporary practices in design and construction methodology
  • Past exposure to contractual, legal, commercial, industrial relations and legislative compliance management
  • Quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk management

Experience managing Temporary Works consultant deliverables across complex project environments and exposure to a range of contract types, together with your excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills, will see you succeed in the role.
