The More Trains, More Services program will simplify and modernise the rail network creating high capacity, turn up and go services for many customers. It means customers can expect more frequent train services, with less wait times, less crowding on a simpler and more reliable network.

John Holland is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Overhead Wiring to join the MTMS team based in at Erskinville, NSW.

As Senior Project Engineer you will coordinate on-site overhead wiring engineering functions for allocated projects to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient support for construction activities. 

Responsibilities of this role;

  • Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates
  • Interpret and interrogate overhead wiring layout plans and design whilst incorporating the latest standards and procedures
  • Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications
  • Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary
  • Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff
  • Provide expert advice, assisting project and technical managers to identify rail and systems requirements for the project, as well as managing integration of station and infrastructure systems
  • Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget.
     

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years post graduate engineering experience with 4+ years site based
  • Experience on  > $50 M Projects
  • Project Engineer and operational experience
  • Advanced commercial acumen including cost reduction and meeting budgets
  • Delivery of major projects and teams to program and budget specifications
  • Understanding of the Quality Management Plan. Safety Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan and Projects Design Management Plan
