We are currently looking for Site Engineer (Track and Civil) to join our team based in Eveleigh, NSW.

 

As Site Engineer you will provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff.

 

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • ­Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards and JHG SQE Risk Management process
  • ­Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project Manager
  • Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e. construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.
  • Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behavior in reducing costs and meeting budgets
  • ­ Verify subcontractors’ claims and variations
  • ­ Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager
  • ­ Maintain drawing register controls for the project
  • ­ Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes Delivery of track upgrades and new installation in the MTM corridor for the project inclusive of standard track construction and installation of complex junction works
  • ­ Work tasks to include formation improvement, track drainage, capping works, ballast installation, construction of skeleton track, tamping/surfacing works, welding and destressing works
  • ­ Work & coordinate with the supervision team to delivery team objectives

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • ­ Being a position in Rail team, where most of the work is completed in rail closures over weekends, public holiday and nightshifts – a level of flexibility in work hours roster is required for this role.
  •  Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent
  • ­ Minimum 3 years’ engineering experience
  • ­ Construction management and specific technical skills base relevant to program of work and discipline area
  • ­ Skill in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and procedures
