About Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 (GCLR3)

Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.

John Holland is GoldlinQ's recommended design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7 kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast’s expected population growth in the coming decades. 

Are you up for the challenge?

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join the team, based at our project office in Broadbeach. This is not your average support role – you will be customer facing and solutions focussed in supporting users across multiple project sites.  You will have a strong focus on providing an excellent customer experience and be motivated to resolve incidents by engaging with users, understanding their needs, and seeing issues through to resolution.  You will be responsible for supporting our technical infrastructure, daily end user support and maintenance and administration of IT Systems in a diligent and responsive manner to ensure a high level of service to the project.

About the Role:

  • Supporting all systems, applications and infrastructure under our IT Service Delivery Model
  • Working to resolve Level 2 support requests, phone calls and walk-up requests
  • Providing support to the wider IT Team to manage, install, test and troubleshoot new technology and systems
  • Assisting in reviewing technologies to determine suitability for the project and wider business
  • Supporting SME’s in the implementation of supported applications & systems
  • Maintaining, assigning and reassigning IT devices and assets
  • Mobilising, supporting and demobilising of project offices all the way from installing network hardware, video conferencing equipment to end user devices installs of desks

About You:

We are looking for a Tertiary qualification in Computing, or related discipline coupled with significant experience in a Level 1-2 Support environment. 

You will have strong IT networking and troubleshooting skills, and a working knowledge of Active directory, ServiceNow, MS Teams and Microsoft 365 products.   Your positive attitude, superior customer services skills and logical approach to problem solving will see you hit the ground running.
