About you and the role


We are seeking a highly experienced Industrial Relations (IR) Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting our QLD region. Based in our Brisbane office, you will take charge of developing and executing effective IR strategies across multiple business units, while driving the overall IR capability within our teams.


Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

  • Development and implement (IR) strategies which enable Business Units to plan, win and deliver work. 
  • Hands-on involvement in managing the industrial risk on projects. 
  • Coach and build capacity of leaders to manage effective IR. 
  • Act as an escalation point and case manage significant ER matters in collaboration with our NASER team. 
  • Representation at relevant Courts and Tribunals. 
  • Undertake complex investigations as required. 
  • Lead EBA negotiations across all Business Units.


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelors degree and relevant experience in Law, Business, Industrial Relations, Human Resources or Employee Relations.
  • Previous experience as an IR Manager working on complex infrastructure projects. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the QLD IR environments and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with Employee Relations, Industrial Relations or performance management in a unionised environment within the construction industry.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders.
