About the Role

The Social Procurement Advisor will be responsible for the application and delivery of social procurement, training and local content requirements on projects and to provide support to the delivery of client social inclusion and procurement obligations.

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Manage and implement the social procurement strategy for the project in accordance with the contract and broader John Holland strategy
  • Assist subcontractors to understand their social procurement, training and local content obligations under the contract
  • Coordinate delivery, monitoring and reporting of project social procurement targets
  • Build relationships with social benefit suppliers that can support JHG’s social inclusion procurement requirements
  • Facilitate cultural awareness and training relevant to achieving social procurement strategy to JHG employees and sub-contractors on topics such as disability, mental health, cultural and domestic violence to support the project to meet their targets
  • Collaborate with the broader social inclusion and diversity community to share learnings and information
  • Co-ordinate events and celebrations of cultural significance while providing an up-to-date diversity and inclusion calendar and implementation of relevant initiatives

What we are looking for;

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role developing and implementing social procurement requirements in an operational environment
  • Understanding of government-related policies
  • Demonstrated experience developing networks with job networks and community groups and managing client relationships
  • Understanding of commercial terms with contractors
  • Strong ability to build networks and relationships
  • Exposure to engineering, construction, manufacturing or similar industry
