About the role

We are currently seeking a passionate Systems and Safety Assurance Engineer to join our Rail & Transport division based in Brisbane. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to work on iconic rail infrastructure projects across the state. 


Your main responsibility will be to ensure that the rail systems on our projects are meticulously designed, constructed, and operated to meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, availability, and maintainability. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of our rail projects and be part of shaping the future of transportation in QLD. 

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to) supporting:

  • Management and reporting of systems and safety assurance program on projects and tenders.
  • Assurance submissions to clients.
  • Coordination and monitoring of systems and safety assurance activities for projects and tenders.
  • Performing safety risk assessments and analyses for railway operations to ensure that potential hazards are identified, adequately assessed, and mitigated.
  • Development of safety assurance statements and reports, hazard log, and other safety or systems assurance deliverables as required.
  • Review project documentation, including technical documentation, to collate assurance evidence for submissions to client or internal reviews.
  • Develop safety requirements for verification and validation, and communication with project teams.
  • Systems engineering, integration, RAM, and Human Factors activities as required.

 

 

What we are looking for;

 

  • A bachelor degree in Engineering. 
  • Previous Systems and Safety Assurance experience in Rail. 
  • Knowledge of contemporary systems engineering and assurance practices. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Be able to manage stakeholders across different projects and build positive relationships.
  • Be proactive and delivery focused.
  • Familiarity with modern RAMS and systems engineering tools is desirable.
