We are looking for a Systems Assurance Engineer to join the Rail and Transport division of John Holland based in Brisbane, working on iconic Queensland rail projects.
 

As Systems Assurance Engineer you will ensure rail systems being delivered as part of projects are being designed, constructed, and can be operated to meet the safety, reliability, availability and maintainability requirements.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Assist in the coordination and monitoring of systems assurance activities performed by the relevant project delivery organisations.

• Participate in and assist with the risk assessment activities for railway operations to ensure that potential hazards are identified, adequately assessed, and mitigated.

• Support the project and tender teams in effectively implementing risk management elements, recommending effective risk control measures, and evaluating the initial and residual risk involved

• Review and comment on systems assurance submissions

• Ensure safety requirements have been included in designs and communicated to relevant parties.

• Review key project processes, documentation, and assurance evidence to ensure alignment with verification and validation strategy across the project lifecycle

• Ensure all appropriate measures and feedback is in place to support, monitor and review all aspects of the design safety assurance review process

• Manage and monitor the systems assurance program on projects and tenders

About you:

You will have a Bachelor degree in Engineering or relevant tertiary qualification with at least 3 years post-graduate experience. 

Additionally, you will have strong knowledge of contemporary systems engineering and assurance practices and ideally, experience within the rail industry.
