We have an exciting opportunity for a 3rd or 4th year student who is currently studying Construction Management or Engineering to join our Building business as an Undergraduate.
 

As an Undergraduate, you'll have the opportunity to kick start your career and apply what you've learnt at university to the real working environment. It's an exciting opportunity to gain insight into what it's like working for John Holland and start developing your technical and soft skills.

What you will do;

• Assist in a cross section of Corporate, Business Unit, Region and Project based activities to gain experience in John Holland’s operations and project based areas
• Assist in delivering a scope of work in accordance with activities, project plans or specifications for work that is planned for the short term view
• Ensure that the obligations of every individual to have a duty of care for people, community, Safety, Quality, Environment etc are supported
• Used established procedures, gather and correlate basic data and perform detailed or routine engineering duties
• Use effective problem solving techniques and skills especially as it relates to delivery of outcomes
• Assist in the planning, support and reporting for all aspects of the Corporate, Business Unit, Region and Project work execution
• Assist maintenance engineers, shift supervisors and forepersons to improve maintenance procedures and plant equipment

What we are looking for;

• A 3rd or 4th year student currently studying Construction Management or Engineering
• A keen interest in gaining experience in the construction industry
• Available to work at least 2 days per week
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work effectively in a demanding and fast-paced work environment, by prioritising tasks to meet deadlines
• Well-developed organisational skills and producing work to a high standard
• A team player with a positive and friendly can-do attitude
• Currently hold an Australian Probationary or Full Driver’s License
• Passion for developing your career with John Holland and be mentored by industry experts
