About Inland Rail:
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Illabo to Stockinbingal project is about 39km of new rail corridor located within the local government areas of Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai. This new section of rail corridor will provide a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal and connecting into the existing Forbes rail line.
About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our I2S project.
This role will be based in our Mascot Office until construction commences in quarter 3 2025. It will then be a 2-1 roster role, based out of the project camp in Stockinbingal.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide environmental guidance, diligence and consistency to internal stakeholders.
- Provide advice and input into the identification and effective management of environmental risks.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of project environmental management systems.
- Support the communication of environment matters to management and project staff.
- Undertake and document regular site inspections and environmental audits.
- Assist with sustainability initiatives on the project to promote environmentally responsible practices.
About you:
- Experience on complex Rail/Infrastructure projects
- Willing to Drive In Drive Out (DIDO)
- Be open to working a 2:1 roster (2 weeks on / 1 week off)
- Or, willing to relocate yourself within an hour’s commute of Cootamundra/Stockinbingal.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s Degree in environmental engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Construction industry working in an Environmental role.
- Knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures and processes
